6 mesi!

So, after 6 months of being here... life in Italy is pretty normal. I'm doing more in school, im making friends other then Benny's friends (I'm going out more with out her which is good because we're still having the issue of her speaking to me in English too much), and I'm doing some after school activities like choir. I've grown to really love Perugia and it definitely feels like home. Just as if I was back in Chicago, I have my good days and my bad days.. But overall this past week was a really good week :)

Sunday night I slept over at my friend Giorgia's house which was a lot of fun... We spoke in Italian the whole time!!! Then monday morning we woke up at 4:30 in the morning because my class was leaving at 5:30 to go to Balogna for the day. Balogna is only a 3 hour drive from Perugia... Basically what we did was go to a factory that makes motorbikes and we saw how they are made, then we visited a museum that explained the history, and then we saw a lab that explained the physics behind how they are made. Well, honestly... I wasn't that interested... But I still had fun with friends. But seriously, its redicuolous how much the young people smoke here. Litterally every moment we had a 5 minute break everyone would run outside to smoke!!!

Tuesday, was Carnivale... Which is basically like Halloween, minus the free candy, plus crazier costumes/parties. At first I wasn't planning on doing anything too exciting because I had school Wednesday, but then Benny made the excelent point that we dont celebrate Carnivale in America so I should take this oppurtunity and live it up. So I ended up dressing up like Mini Mouse and going to a disco with some friends until 5 in the morning... Yeaa didn't make it to school the next day...

Thursday and Friday I helped some friends study for The First which is this crazyyy english test that a lot of people my age do here. Its basically as big a deal as the ACT or SAT except its only for english. Everyone was really stressed out about it...

Saturday night my class organized a dinner. Going out to dinner here is a little different then going out to dinner with friends in America, because well, everyone orders alcohol... So that was interesting. But I love how close the classes get here because your with the same aprox. 20 people for 5 years, so they really do become bestfriends. Its not like that at all at home, the people I'm in class with change every semester!

These are just a few tid bits of the things I have been enjoying... Italia รจ bellissima :)

Ciao!
Grace
